My Buddies @ Comcast

Comcast really sucks. Comcast is the worst. Comcast has some of the biggest idiots in the US working for them.  OK, so now your getting to know how I really feel about Comcast. The irony of this whole thing is that if I ever tried to make up some of this, it would never compare to the facts.
       Anyway, the following is all true and as accurate as I can recall.

         About a week ago I realized that my Wi Fi in my apartment was not strong enough to run my I Pad.  I had the I Pad checked at the Apple Store, and realized that it was working fine there.  I got home and did some research and discovered that I had a wireless router connected to my cable modem that is several years old.  It was time for an all  in one wireless modem that would increase the signal.  I knew that was an easy fix, and didn't give it a second thought.

      So Friday morning I take my old router back to the local Comcast office to upgrade to a new wireless router. After waiting on line for almost an hour this nice lady explains to me that mine is very old (2years) and they don't make them anymore as there is a new Gateway wireless modem that is now being used by Comcast.  Wonderful...........The next sentence out of her is simply that they are out of stock in the office I was at and she advised me to go to another location where she said there were plenty in stock.
     I am fine with that and certainly realize things like this do happen.  I can't get to the other location until Saturday, so I simply forget about it for the balance of the day.....Saturday morning I get up early so as to be one of the first people at the other office I was going to.  I get there and lo and behold. Another fucking line. This time I only have to wait about 30 minutes.  But I am ready. I am armed with my old router and my current Comcast modem that I pay a monthly fee for.  I hand this to the nice man and ask him to please let me have one of the new Gateway wireless modems....Now I know I am home free...........UNTIL........he looks at me and tells me that he can't give me one because I have to call service and they need to send a servicemen to install it.  How damn difficult can this be. But again, I am at a loss because the idiot from the day before never bothered to tell this to me.

         So there I am driving back home and getting  a little more pissed by the second.  I get in the door and decide that was a perfect time to call Comcast.  Well, I was lucky because I only had to stay on the phone 15 minutes to hold for some other Comcast agent.  I explain my tale of woe and I am told there would be a $100 service charge for this other service person to come and install it. This is strange because I know it is a 5 second set up.....She goes on and on and finally gets the price down to $30.00 which is still 30 too much.. And or course she can't make an appointment until Thursday morning. (why fucking rush).
       Here is the deal. I know something will fuck up this coming appointment. I also have this very strange feeling that it will probably be some nice repair guy who will say to me, " Why didn't you pick one of these up yourself and install it in a few seconds instead of paying this $100 set up charge" ?

Comcast Sucks Big Time

Am I feeling good.??????  Finally I have something to really bitch about and be pissed off about.  That F**ken thing is Comcast and all the idiots that work there.  I am so pissed now, it has even given me an excuse to make a cocktail with some nice Tito's Vodka, that should put me in a more relaxed mood shortly. I will go into the problem with Comcast in a moment, but first I need to vent about trying to speak to a complete human with at least part of a brain.  After calling the number, you are asked if it's English press one.......etc.... That is the first part of this bull shit.  After all, I still believe that I am in America.  OK, so now there are 4 different options, with about 4/5 choices under each option.  Naturally none of them apply to what I want, but what can a guy do ?  So you press anything and then try to press 0, which doesn't do a damn thing, and then get hit with a message telling you how my business is appreciated, but they can't speak to me for 7 minutes because there are other pissed off people ahead of me.  But the recording does ask me if I would like to participate in a brief survey after my business is completed.  Fuck No.....I just want to speak to some idiot, have them take care of my problem caused by them, and then hang the fuck up.  I don't want to be his or her friend, I don't give a shit what they think, say, or do, unless of course they solve their problem, which is now mine.  So finally this dumb ass female (I think ) answers and immediately starts to ask me questions although I can hardly understand her.  She merely wants to confirm my name, address, apt number, zip code, email address, last 4 of my social, and when I last wiped my ass.  She then questions me when I tell her my city is Singer Island, because that is not in their computer. ( The zip for Singer Island comes up as West Palm Beach or Riviera Beach, or Singer Island ) Don't ask me why or how this happens, but it does.  When she nicely tells me that I don't live in Singer Island, can it be somewhere else ??????????  I go completely ballistic on her.  I told her that I know where I live and that I don't give a shit what her computer says.  By now she is petrified of me and calling me sir and being especially nice.    So now I can go back to why I am so pissed.

About a week and a half ago I got a new Droid X.  I love it, but my reception in my apartment really sucks.  I can go on my balcony and get perfect reception, but not inside.  Something about being right on the ocean.  OK, so after bitching to Verizon, I get someone to send me a network extender which will get me perfect reception inside. This is a $250.00 piece of equipment, but they were sending it to me free.  The only thing is, I needed a wireless router to go with this. Now the fun begins. I find out that comcast will send me one free, but I need to pay $9.95 for shipping. OK, that is cool with me.  So a week ago I order one on line and print out a comcast receipt that confirms the order and even thanks me.  I also read where it will take up to 5 business days to receive it......Now the fun begins.....Today is the fifth day and I still don't have it.  That is what prompts me to call and find out when it was shipped ???????  So now we return to the first part of this where I discuss the calling to comcast.  When I finally do get to speak to a live person, I am told that he has NO record of me ordering this wireless router ?????????  Nice....... I calmly say to this idiot..........Idiot, I am looking at a printed receipt from Comcast that clearly says I ordered it and it would be shipped within 5 days.......I demand to speak to a supervisor, but they have all died and gone to cable heaven.  He then tells me that he is sorry, does not know what happened, but will order me another  one and not charge me for the shipping.  By then I am so disgusted that I finally say OK, and thank you.  I ask him if he has a confirmation for this and he says Certainly.......Wait one minute and I will get it for you as it is generated by the computer.   He then say It is.......................and the phone gets disconnected.....  I hate fucking Comcast...........BTW.........after my second drink I called back and someone else was able to give me the confirmation number, after of course, I refused to give them any information.  What are the odds of me getting this router ????????
