Dumb, Dumb and Dumber

I have to admit it. Sometimes, I am really dumb.  It's a fact, it's a given, and I surely know that it is true even though I don't like to admit it.  After all, aren't most of us really dumb ? Or, do dumb things every now and then ?

Well, I did my stupid thing on my smart phone last week. No, I didn't pull and Anthony Weiner and text pictures of my private parts.  I probably would if I were ever able to figure out that one position that gives you the biggest view imaginable. Actually, I think what I did was probably worse.

I was in my car waiting to pick up someone and had some time to kill. What is a better way to kill time when parked than to call everyone you know and then if there is anytime remaining, to play with your phone.  I decided to do just that.  I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 that I really love. I basically know everything about the phone, but still insist on playing with it when I am bored.  This time I put it in the accessibility mode and began my playtime...It was really wonderful listening to all the commands  being spoken and all kinds of information verbally coming out of the phone.  I heard the weather, time, news headlines, and some other stuff. Then a very strange thing happened......The Phone Rang.........Now there was only one problem.  I couldn't figure out how to answer the call. I couldn't scroll anything and had to double click an icon and listen to what it was. I tried everything to get it back to normal, but no go.

I did everything over and over again.  I felt like the biggest asshole in the world.  My friends came out and I had to take them to pick up their car which I did, while wondering if my phone will ever return to normalcy again.  After dropping them off, I decided to go to my local PCS store, where I know the owner would figure it out.  In my mind, I knew that it had to be some very simple thing that I was missing or just not doing.

I enter the store and see that the owner (my friend) is really busy with someone.  One of the other 2 employees comes over to me and offers to help.  I tell him the problem and he proceeds to take out the battery to restart it, and playing with all the controls.  I tell him that is not the problem and that I already did all of that.  He is lost in space so he hands the phone to employee number 2 who I shall call dumb or dumb ?  He does the same thing, but then proceeds to do some other stuff like scroll the apps.  Naturally this doesn't work, because I have already determined this is the problem. But alas.....Dumb looks at me and says the screen is frozen that I need a new phone.  I try to explain to him the reason it doesn't move and he still doesn't understand.  He cannot understand how a blind person cannot see to be able to scroll the screen, which is the reason for the audio....  Now I am getting an attitude.  Finally my friend David becomes free and I tell him the problem...Nothing like going up the chain of command.

David looks and looks and finally goes online to check problems like mine...He is stumped. Together we retrace all my steps with the phone and he is completely crazed as well.  He tells me that he has never seen anything like this before. But alas, by accident, all of a sudden, like a miracle he double clicks on part of the screen, we are able to scroll down to the accessibility area and uncheck what I did................and like magic............it was back to normal.................We both have no fucken idea of how we cured this problem, but I did learn one important thing.....If your not blind, don't fuck around with shit that your not familiar with.
