Gas prices have long been a contention of controversy. That doesn't bother me because the price is what it is, and stations have the right to screw all of us just like every other business in America does. We however, have a choice of what and where to buy. What really does piss me off is the 9/10 Th. fraction at the end. Who the Fuck are they kidding ? What is the reason for this and who is the genius that came up with that idea ? Actually, whoever did was pretty smart. The problem is we are all over it. Round it out. Make it $2.68. Are Americana's really that stupid that when gas is $2.68 9/10 they think the gas is $2.68 and not $2.69 ??????? Once again it's bullshit advertising at it's best......... OK. As long as we are on gas, let's discuss Car Rentals.
I am sure most of us rent or have rented cars while traveling. Airport rentals are a wonderful thing for those of us that have been blessed with Lobotomy's . Having a non working brain is sometimes the best way to rent a car. ( I am talking domestically now only ). If you have rented a car recently, I urge you to look at your bill and see how many of these listed charges you NOW notice. And just think, that special fixed daily or weekly rental rate seemed so right and so reasonable. But what about the following charges ????? Insurance itself is a whole different blog. Airport Surcharge ?? Sales Tax ?? Gasoline Charge ?? ( If you did not prepay or purchase gas ) Drop Off Charge ?? 24 Hour Clock Rate ?? (If you returned it an hour late ) Early Return Charge ?? ( If you returned it early ) License Fee Charge ?? Age Penalties ?? (if under 25 ) Additional Driver ?? Infant Seat ?? GPS ?? Energy Surcharge ?? OK, so maybe all of them don't apply, But most of them are just bull shit charges. Once again, we have the option to shop where we want.......OK. As long as we were on gas and car rentals, let's go to that nice hotel where you are finally starting your vacation. ( How coincidental with my kids on vacation now ).
. Your away or just got back from that wonderful vacation. Do this after and not during your stay , or you will get so pissed you might ruin some of the fun. Your back right... OK, now you can look at your hotel bill. Have you noticed the Resort Fees ?? ( These are used to cover the costs of the hotels swimming pool, shuttle service and stuff like that. Costs run $10-$25 per day) Internet Fees ?? Room Service Fee ?? Mini Bar surcharge ?? Parking Fees ?? Hotel Tax , State, local, Vat, ?? Phone Fees ?? And the newest one taken from the airlines is the Energy Surcharge ?? So once again now look at that wonderful special deal you got daily or weekly and see where it really is ???????
This same bullshit is true everywhere. The Airline Industry and in fact all travel industries. Look at your phone, electric, Cable, Car Lease, Credit Cards.........Let's face it, we are getting raped everywhere we look. Pretty soon we will see a
BP surcharge on all of the above to help the cleanup that is not being paid for. That's America for you and That is Business for you as well......Gotta Love the USA.......
