Saving Money Vs. Wasting Money

When you come right down to it, Costco and all the other huge discount Warehouse stores really suck.  I don't know about you, but whenever I go there I seem to just piss away money.  Being single and probably not having the need to buy  large boxes of cereal that will last me til 2016 is really a problem.  Sure, I guess I will save some money the first year or so until of course I look at the box and see it is past the expiration date.  I bought a two-pack of mayonnaise  recently and by the time I got to the second jar, the expiration date had passed.  So here is the deal.  Unless you are married and have at least 16 kids, your probably wasting your money.
Besides, why would anyone want to waste all that time.  First of all the damn parking lots are always busy and you have to make sure there are not too many carts or flat beds near where you are parking to avoid a large dent in your auto.... OK, now you have parked your car and make your way up to the entrance where you have to show your special card as though you were entering the border of another country.  So now you have made it into the store and have one of those over sized carts that are especially made to make you buy more and not know it.  You are standing in the front of the store making that all important decision as to which way you will start this fantastic journey ? I know that I always go the same direction as I have to attack the paper toweling section first.  I then look for the largest mob scene where I then know the best food is being served by little robots working for the product they are trying to promote.  I assume there are many people that come here daily as opposed to going out to a restaurant.
I manage to walk around while glancing at my watch at 10 second intervals.  I try to break my record of 8 minutes in the store with about a $165.00 bill.  I guess I am a creature of habit.  I will always buy something that looks good and wind up tossing at least half of it out before it turns moldy.   I can't buy fruit, because I really object to getting frostbite in that stupid freezer portion that houses all the perishable fruits.  I don't eat red meat, so that's another area I can stay away from. I bought some vitamins there once, but somehow object to having a year or two supply of that hanging around my kitchen cabinet.  Come to think of it, why do I shop there ?????  I really don't know, but do not want to miss the experience of seeing what I should not buy. And then again, I am only speaking for myself.  I know many happy people in my building alone that only shop at Costco because they think it is such a bargain.  I guess someone is right.  Gotta go now as I have to finish my Costco shopping list for my adventure there tomorrow morning after the gym. ( If you can't beat them, join them )
