$5.4 million for Crystal Stemware.............for State Department....WTF

Can you imagine paying 5.4 million dollars for stemware for the State Department ????? Oh yes, this contract was given to a connected design firm with no experience making stemware.  Oh yes again, this is a company based in Sweden.  And Oh yes one more time...........why not give this contract to Steuben Glass in NY????  That is in the USA......  This is a pretty hefty sum  for fancy stemware to be procured for US embassies and ambassadors' residences overseas.
     Think it can't get worse ?  $117,000 was paid for a project manager.  $63,000 for a software engineer, and $44,000 for warehouse housing... However, the documents show no purchase or deliver of a single sherry glass or whatever.  Plus this was a no bid contract for Hillary Clinton's State Department.
     What a great country we live in.  I imagine plastic cups are out of the question ?
     In an article somewhat related to the above in this morning's paper was The Liquor Commissioner in Gilford, NH. He  was charged with driving while intoxicated ----and removed from office yesterday for refusing a breath test.  The liquor commissioner ????????? How wonderful.
     There is absolutely no reason to ever watch a late night talk show (which is nothing more than an infomercial for a new book, movie, album, or show ) when you can read any local newspaper or look on line to see the ridiculous stuff going on each and every day.
      My favorite will be this evening attending a civic association meeting on Singer Island where I live.  Some of the local politicians will be there and probably tremble when I ask they some real questions.  (my civic duty as I am a director. This in itself should tell you how messed up things are ) This is going to be so much better than live theatre.
     I wonder if they will have crystal stemware for the soft drinks tonight ?  Nah.......just the usual plastic cups.
