Yeah ? Right ? Next Lifetime ? Later ? Fuck No....................There is nothing free. There is no-one giving us anything for free. Maybe every now and then we will get a free product sample, but that usually is short lived. I remember it was not so long ago when I could go to the local drug store and there were always new products in sample sizes being given out...................and they were really free.......... I would also be able to go to the supermarket and there would be vendors there with new products showing them off and giving me free samples of them. Yes, really free.
Those days seem to be long gone. No more free samples, or at least not in the way we were used to. It is all changed now and like everything else, these cheap bastards in charge of product development have figured out how to screw us and make more money for them. They have come up with new and magical ways to turn this new product bullshit into some kind of major marketing bonanza. Mad Ave does it again.
Free has turned into trying a product for free..........................But...................paying a ridiculous shipping and handling fee that more than pays for the cost of the product......
Free has turned into a special card with your own bar-code number that tracks your purchases. With this special card (available to anyone), you get special prices or some credit at a later date. This is done by every major drug and supermarket chain in the US. Again, more bullshit and built into the price.
There is always discount codes that are available on line that you can enter into your purchase when your checking out. Again, designed to let you think you are getting something for nothing. Everyone uses them and if someone is stupid enough not to, well that just is more profit for the company,
Restaurants have decided to enter the free game. There are coupons all over the place with usually $5.00 or $10.00 off the cost of dinner. Figure that out the next time your out with a few people and there is a $130.00 check and you have a little discount coupon ??? This is also built into the price and sucks for customers without one.
One of my favorites is this coupon above. The only problem I have is trying to find the right establishment willing to accept it.
There are discounts available everywhere for everyone in everything they do. I might suggest carefully saving all these free or discount coupons in a nice small file cabinet kept in the trunk of your car for that time when you might just need one of them. I know that whenever I go to Costco as I get by the front door, I say to myself......Fuck....Fuck....Fuck.....I forgot the coupon book they sent me the other day that I left in my house.
The moral of this story is simple. Don't worry about cutting out coupons, looking for free samples, writing down special codes, carrying your bar coded discount card with you, making sure you shop only on the sale days, or the senior days, or the special anniversary store days, or anything else they might promise you a discount for.........Just shop like you normally do, and when given the opportunity and you feel really secure.................................steal one or two items. That will surely show these pricks that we mean business and maybe it will help put an end to this false advertising and free sample bullshit.
