Lets face it. We all lie. We all tell these horrible lies many, many times a day. Usually they are no big deal, sometimes they are a hell of a big deal.....But....and I do mean but......We don't want our local super market chain doing the lying...OK, so maybe it's not really a lie. Maybe it is just a little fib, or a simple exaggeration of the truth, or a slight mistake in merchandising, or just ??????? Bull Shit....It's a lie.
Let me explain and start fresh from the beginning. I love my local Publix store. It is close by my house, it is clean, it carries everything I need, and for the most part, all the employees are pretty nice. There is really nothing bad I can say about it. Plus, to add to all this wonderful stuff, they have pretty good weekly specials that are printed out weekly. ( I fucking know this is not unique and every damn market does the same thing...Give me a break, it's part of the story).
About once a month there is usually a coupon in the circular for a $50 gas card for only $40. Now I assure you that I piss away money on anything and everything. I have fucked up my retirement by always spending money on anything I wanted. But......for some unknown reason I will not miss out on this great 20% savings for gasoline. After all, I only need to spend $50.00 in groceries to be eligible for this great saving. Plus, if I miss it, my friend Howard will call me and vice versa.
It's a wonderful feeling knowing that you can throw away money on everything, be extravagant, live big, buy shit you don't ever need, and at the same time manage to save $10.00 while buying groceries that you need anyway.
But Alas.......................................
This week there was something a little different...Instead of a gas card, there was the same deal for an American Express Gift Card.. Wow....That was even better. Now I could use the card in any gas station of my choice instead of being confined to the few that were always offered. I couldn't wait to call my friend and give him the good news.
Guess What I Noticed ?????? There was a $4.95 service charge on the receipt with a charge marked "activation fee for gift card"........No-where, No-place, No-how was anything on the circular or anywhere else stating this.......So....Mr. Publix......I hope your fucking nose grows 3 inches and your fucking pants catch on fire.......
