Miracles Do Happen

There really is hope. There really are miracles. There really are TV Servicemen that do know what they are talking about.  Somehow, Sometime, Someway, if you wait long enough something good will happen.
This afternoon, between one and three PM, this miracle did in fact happen. Not only was it amazing, but it happened exactly when it was said to happen.  I also realize this is a one time thing, a one time experience and that it will never again happen.
Enough suspense.  Earlier I wrote that I would give all the gory details of my experience with my most favorite cable company in the world.....COMCAST...... On Thursday I had called one of the usual know nothing telephone agents and reported the following. My main TV would not let me use the DVR, nor let me get certain channels without getting a "Not Authorized" message appearing. My other little TV in the kitchen kept getting a "Not Authorized" message completely.  Now must of us have experienced enough stuff with Comcast to know the simple rules of engagement before calling..Unplug your box and TV and let it reboot.  That sometimes does take care of the problem.
Well, after doing all that I called the telephone idiot and explained the situation and told him that it sounds like some kind of computer error with my account simply because of what was happening.  Naturally he told me the account was correct and that he would send a signal to my box.  Naturally that didn't work....Now comes the best part of making an appointment.  He tells me that he can send someone to my house on Saturday between 1-3 PM, but that someone needs to be home when they call...if not.....service call will be cancelled.......He also very politely told me that Comcast would then fix my problem......First of all, how the fuck did this become my problem ????  It seems to me that it is Comcast equipment and if its not working it is their problem.....not mine......
OK, so they guarantee they will be there within the two hour window they provide. That is wonderful, but they never tell you that you MUST be there to get their confirmation call that could come anywhere from 9am to 1pm......So again....how is that a fucking 2 hour window ?
But now for the good news......At about 12, I get a call from a nice gentlemen named Vernando (I won't use his last name because I wouldn't want everyone else in Comcast to be jealous of this terrific repairman.).  He said he was running early and wanted to know if he could come in a few minutes.
Well, Vernando got here as promised and after speaking to him for a few minutes and listening to his response, I knew that a miracle was in the making.  He told me in a few seconds that it was a simple computer glitch from their office and that someone must have done something to my account by mistake.  I told him my story and he laughed and we both were able to read each others mind....Yes.....there are plenty of idiots working for Comcast......
But today I got lucky with someone who really knew their job....Thank you Vernando for restoring a little faith in Comcast from me.....Mind you not lots, just a little bit.
